Initial autopsy findings show that an infant girl found dead in a hotel restroom wastebasket had been born alive, the San Diego County coroner’s office said Wednesday.
Police homicide detectives are investigating the death. The body was found Tuesday by a cleaning woman in a women’s restroom in the lobby of the Harborside Motel, 1403 Rosecrans St. The body was inside a white plastic bag.
