Two children were hospitalized after they were found in an abandoned refrigerator in Compton. Reported missing were Masjid Hairy, 4, who lives in the 14400 block of Cairn Avenue, and Cassandra Henderson, 5, of Rancho Palos Verdes. A short time after the report, sheriff’s deputies received a call from Hairy’s family, saying that the two children had been found inside the refrigerator at 14302 S. Cahita Ave., Compton. The children were taken to Harbor General Hospital, where Hairy was treated and released. Henderson was admitted for observation. Robert Ball, 72, who owns the refrigerator, was arrested and booked for investigation of a misdemeanor--keeping the refrigerator in the yard with the door attached. He was held in lieu of $1,000 bail.
