A 27-year-old San Diego man died Monday morning when his car collided with a pickup truck on Miramar Road. Steven Joseph Lawson, a custodian from Mira Mesa, was driving west on Miramar Road at 9:20 a.m. when the pickup, heading east, made a left turn from Miramar Road to Cabot Drive. The vehicles collided and Lawson’s small sedan skidded sideways, crashing into a light pole at the intersection. Lawson, treated at the scene by paramedics, was pronounced dead by a Life Flight physician.
