WASHINGTON — John Riggins, the bull-like running back and mainstay of the Washington Redskins’ ground attack, ended his three-week holdout today by signing a one-year contract reportedly worth nearly $1 million.
Specifics of the pact were not released, but reports said Washington owner Jack Kent Cooke offered Riggins, the NFL’s oldest running back, a one-year pact just under the $1-million mark. Riggins was seeking a one-year package of about $1.4 million.
