TEL AVIV — Another 100 of the Lebanese detainees whose release was demanded by the TWA hijackers in June are to be freed Tuesday, leaving about 250 Lebanese in Atlit prison, a military spokesman said.
Shia Muslim hijackers of the TWA plane in Beirut had demanded that Israel immediately release all the detainees in return for 39 American hostages. Israel freed 300 detainees from Atlit on July 3 and 100 on July 24.
