Guard at Bar Kills Man

A security guard for a Firestone Park-area bar was arrested on suspicion of manslaughter after he shot and killed a man who had thrown a rock at the guard and was trying to flee, a Sheriff’s Department spokesman said Sunday.
Juan Garcia, 48, earlier had forced the 22-year-old Los Angeles man to leave La Alianza bar, Sheriff’s Deputy Bob Stoneman said. The man returned, threw the rock and was shot while running away, Stoneman said.
He declined to identify the dead man pending notification of next of kin.
