AT&T; said the workers will lose their jobs over the next two weeks at a plant in Shreveport, but the facility will remain in operation. Last month, the company laid off 877 people at the plant and said 650 more would lose their jobs over a period of 18 months. Officials said 350 of those 650 were included in the most recent round of layoffs, but they were unsure when the other 300 would be let go. The facility now assembles business telephones. Last month, the company announced that the plant’s home-telephone section was being moved overseas to Singapore.
