Riggins: a Record Contract?

The Washington Redskins are expected on Monday to sign John Riggins to the richest one-year contract ever for an NFL running back.
Team sources said the contract will pay close to $850,000.
The previous one-year high for a running back was the $737,000 O.J. Simpson received from the San Francisco 49ers in the late ‘70s.
Riggins, a 13-year veteran, made $695,000 last season.
