A ‘Hatchet Job’ on Peter Ueberroth
I read with much interest, and yet more dismay, the past three installments of “Secrets of the Organizing Committee” by Kenneth Reich.
I had the privilege of being appointed as a volunteer aide to Peter Ueberroth. It was one of the highlights of my life and, if you ask any of the other 50,000 volunteers, I am sure they will have many positive and warm memories of the Los Angeles Summer Games.
Once again, as usual, when someone reaches the top of the mountain, as Peter did, there are people who want to tear the mountain down. It also seems that the people who complained about their association with Ueberroth forgot about the immense task that had to be completed.
