McEnroe to Play His Brother in First Round

NEW YORK — John McEnroe will meet his younger brother, Patrick, in the first round of a $315,000 tennis tournament starting Monday in Stratton Mountain, Vt.
The matchup was assured Friday when Patrick McEnroe’s name was selected first in the 64-man draw and was thus automatically slated to take on the tournament’s No. 1-seeded player--his older brother.
The confrontation will mark the first time Patrick, 19, has met John, 26, in a Grand Prix tournament, although they teamed successfully to win a Grand Prix doubles title in Richmond, Va., last year.
