Viewpoint / Letters : Orange County Also Has Great College Football

With fall approaching, a young man’s (even an Orange County young man) thoughts turn to football. Our grand winter’s pastime becomes standard conversational fare through the chilly season. In Orange County, the college football fan has a bright successful team to get acquainted with. The Titans of Cal State Fullerton have developed into a dynamic, winning team that brings top quality action to our county. Two consecutive winning seasons have brought the Titans a bowl appearance and a UPI Top 20 rating. Quickly vanishing are the days when UCLA and the Boys From Troy monopolize this part of the sports world. Long freeway drives are no longer necessary to witness great football, since the Titans play in our chunk of the world. Yep, it has become a three-horse town--and this town’s big enough for all three.
