One-fourth of the proceeds of a National Assn. for the Advancement of Colored People membership drive Aug. 9-11 will be set aside to help victims of the recent Baldwin Hills fire that destroyed 48 homes and heavily damaged nearly 20 others, Southern California NAACP officials announced. The “Freedom ’85 Radio-thon and Gala Festival” will take place on the campus of Dorsey High School and will feature local talent.
