Playboy in Braille
Can we ever hope to balance the budget when a journalistic giant like The Times chastises Congress because it is not willing to provide our society with free Playboy magazines?
The censorship alleged by The Times is merely selection. Other magazines (many more worthy than Playboy) are not translated into Braille. Is that censorship and telling the blind what they may and may not read? No! It is merely selection based on limited resources.
I would hope that any blind person who really misses Playboy can find a friend or volunteer who will read it to him.
The Times also alleged discrimination in favor of the sighted. This can be corrected by removing Playboy from our public libraries. More than 200 million Americans are willing to make this sacrifice. I was surprised to learn that my local library carried it.
