Nonprofit organizations seeking to aid in the preservation of the Santa Monica Mountains and the Rim of the Valley Trail Corridor may apply for grants from the Santa Monica Mountains Conservancy.
The conservancy has begun giving funds to groups seeking to develop or improve facilities on public lands, create educational programs dealing with appreciation of natural resources and operating and maintaining existing facilities on public lands.
Applications must be in by Aug. 15 for the first public hearing on the grants in September. Application information is available by contracting the conservancy at 107 S. Broadway, Los Angeles.
