The City Council has given first reading to an ordinance that would allow the city to ban the parking of motor homes and other oversized vehicles on narrow streets. Initially, the ban would apply only to a few streets less than 28 feet wide, but it could be extended to other narrow residential streets as problems arise. The city staff recommended the ordinance to solve problems created when parked vehicles are so wide that there is not enough roadway left for two cars to pass in opposite directions.
