The Region : Sex Assault Suspect Seized

A man suspected in the sexual assault and stabbing of a 10-year-old boy abducted as he bicycled to a toy store in Redlands was arrested in Mexico, police said. Robert Lynn Currie, 22, was picked up by Mexican State Judicial Police as he got off a bus, and was being held until investigators can return him to Riverside County for booking. Redlands Police Chief Robert Brinkley said the boy had been sexually assaulted, stabbed and “left for dead” in an isolated area near the Pedley Road on-ramp of the Riverside Freeway in Glen Avon, Brinkley said. The boy is now in stable condition.
