Former minister the Rev. Earl O. Reeves must complete his seven-year, eight-month prison term for molesting four adolescent girls who were members of his congregation, an appellate court decided Tuesday.
The 4th District Court of Appeal in San Diego unanimously rejected Reeves’ request for a new sentencing. The former pastor of Lighthouse Baptist Temple in San Diego argued he had been inadequately represented during his sentencing on May 16, 1984.
Last year, Reeves, 53, of El Cajon, pleaded guilty to molesting four girls from his church who were visiting his daughter at his home. Reeves is serving his term at the California Rehabilitation Center in Norco.
