Police have no leads or suspects in the theft from the Stanford Museum of Art of a small sculpture by Auguste Rodin titled Jean de Fiennes, officials said. The 18-inch-high statue, valued at $2,500, was taken by a thief who broke into the museum between May 4 and 5 and cut a cable that secured the statue, school officials said. Construction work in the area had reduced security in the building, officials said. “This statue is the type of thing that’s very easily identifiable and very difficult to get rid of,” said Marvin Herrington, public safety director of the school.
