Mater Dei Is Still No. 1 in Baseball Poll

Mater Dei High School, which established a school record with its 20th victory last week, remains the top-ranked team in the Orange County Sportswriters’ Assn. prep baseball poll.
Surprising Ocean View, riding an eight-game winning streak, made its first appearance in the top 10 at the seventh position and can clinch the Sunset League title today with a victory against Huntington Beach.
Additionally, Cypress withdrew its protest to Empire League officials and will forfeit its game against Pacifica last week that ended in a brawl.
