“The Missing Child Program,” a public service sponsored by the city’s Recreation and Leisure Services Department in conjunction with the George A. Parker Law Foundation, will be offered next month for preschool-age children and their parents.
The program comes in response to parental requests and is geared toward preventing child abduction.
On May 7, from 10 to 11 a.m., a puppet presentation for 3- to 5-year-olds will show the youngsters what to do if approached by a stranger in three different settings.
On May 21, from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m., a presentation for adults will review the preschool instructional program and offer further suggestions on how to curb child abduction.
Due to limited enrollment, pre-registration is required. To register or for more information, contact the Recreation and Leisure Services Department, 11081 Cedar St., Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to noon and from 1:30 to 5 p.m., or call 220-2220, Extension 277.
