MONTREAL — Jacques Lemaire, coach of the Montreal Canadiens, learned Monday that defenseman Chris Chelios will probably miss the deciding game of the team’s opening-round series against the Boston Bruins tonight.
Chelios, 23, sprained his right knee Sunday when Boston’s Terry O’Reilly and Geoff Courtnall sandwiched him behind Montreal’s net.
The Bruins scored a come-from-behind 7-6 victory over the Canadiens to even the series at 2-2 and force the deciding game in Montreal in the best-of-five Adams Division semifinal.
