Two Kings Take a High-Flyer in Spain

ALBACETE, Spain — The kings of Jordan and Spain, both exerienced pilots, flew combat training planes Wednesday during a visit to a southern Spanish air base.
King Hussein and King Juan Carlos I were accompanied by air force pilots in their 45-minute flight over the base. Later they watched a display by a squadron of French-made Mirage F-1 fighters.
Over the last two years, Spain has sold Jordan about $40 million in military equipment, including helicopter gunships, transport planes, anti-tank guns and ammunition.
Jordanian officials accompanying Hussein on his four-day visit to Spain said discussions between the two kings have included prospects of increased bilateral military cooperation.
