About 100 demonstrators carrying banners outside City Hall condemned the Sandinista government of Nicaragua as “terrorist and repressive” and urged listeners to write in support of the rebels fighting to topple the regime. Speakers chanted in Spanish and English and spoke out in favor of President Reagan’s policies in Central America and against what they called Cuban and Soviet expansion in the region.
