Two Seized on Phone Tip Face Murder Charge

A murder complaint will be sought Monday against a man and woman arrested on a telephone tip in the killing of the woman manager of a Carl’s Jr. fast-food restaurant in the Wilshire area, police said Friday.
Raheem Reginald Hall, 23, of Seattle, and Quima Theresa Phillips, 27, of Louisville were taken into custody at an Inglewood home after a witness saw a television newscast about the killing of Kari Anne Kaye, 30, and called the anonymous telephone tip service WE TIP.
Kaye was shot during a robbery the night of March 1 as she walked to her car near 5th Street and Western Avenue. A $25,000 reward for the arrest and conviction of the killer was posted by Carl’s Jr. executives.
Wilshire Detective Sherman Oaks said officers are trying to determine whether the suspects are responsible for as many as a dozen holdups at fast-food restaurants in the Wilshire and mid-town areas.
