Passenger Shot After Alleged Hit-and-Run

An alleged hit-and-run incident led to a shooting Friday night that left a man in critical condition, Los Angeles police said.
The victim was a passenger in a car that reportedly sideswiped two vehicles. A witness to the alleged incident chased the car to a parking lot at Napa Street and Balboa Boulevard in Northridge, where an argument ensued, police said.
The pursuer pulled out a gun, shot the passenger and fled, police said. The gunman, who was dressed in a suit, has not been apprehended or identified.
Police said they did not arrest the driver for the alleged hit-and-run incidents because the gunman was the only witness.
The passenger, who was shot in the upper chest, was taken to Northridge Hospital Medical Center.
Police said they could not provide identities of the driver or the victim.
