Garden Grove : City Wins $78,000 Grant for Crime Prevention

Officials from Sacramento will hold a ceremony in the Garden Grove Community Center this morning to present a $78,000 grant to Police Chief Frank Kessler for crime prevention programs.
Leading the delegation will be G. Albert Howenstein, executive director of the Office of Criminal Justice Planning.
He will present the check, given under the Community Crime Resistance Program.
The money will be used primarily to set up a voluntary victim/witness program in the Vietnamese community, said Police Lt. John Robertson.
Of the Police Department’s 91 reporting districts, nine of the busiest 10 are heavily populated by Southeast Asian immigrants.
