Numerous state and local government officials are expected to attend the grand opening of the $15-million state office building in Van Nuys on Friday at 10 a.m.
The guests will include Mayor Tom Bradley, Los Angeles County supervisors from the Valley and the Valley’s state Assembly delegation. State Sen. Alan Robbins (D-Van Nuys) will be the master of ceremonies.
Refreshments will be served and area high schools will provide entertainment. The elected officials will address an audience expected to total 500.
The four-story building houses 11 state agencies that were previously scattered throughout the Valley. The building, located at 6150 Van Nuys Blvd., is expected to save the state $60 million in rental costs over the next 20 years.
