West Valley Christian exploded with 17 points in the third quarter to beat Hillcrest Christian and win its first Christian Schools Athletic Conference game in four outings.
The Seekers trailed Hillcrest, 14-13, at halftime, but strong shooting by West Valley’s John Henderson and Alan Prince combined for 21 points in the second half. Henderson, a 6-5 sophomore guard, had a game-high 15 points in the game and grabbed 14 rebounds. Prince had 12 points and eight rebounds.
West Valley Christian won despite commiting 20 turnovers. Hillcrest Christian, which dropped to 1-2 in league play, had 15 turnovers.
