Dr. Kenneth I. Shine, professor and executive chairman of the UCLA School of Medicine, has been named president-elect of the American Heart Assn. He will become president in June, 1986.
A 1961 graduate of Harvard Medical School, he came to UCLA in 1969 as a special postdoctoral fellow. He became director of the UCLA Medical Center’s coronary care unit in 1971 and was named chief of the cardiology division in 1975.
