Alatorre to Seek Snyder Seat

Assemblyman Richard Alatorre (D-Los Angeles), vowing to heal divisions in the East Los Angeles community, said today he will seek City Councilman Art Snyder’s 14th District seat.
The controversial Snyder--who says he is retiring July 1--has faced two recall elections and faces civil charges that he molested his 9-year-old daughter from a previous marriage. Alatorre, making his announcement on the steps of City Hall, said he would end a “recent history of strife and discord” in the district.
