Kyle Ballew, a former Woodland Hills El Camino Real pole vaulter, won the event at the USA Junior Outdoor Track and Field Championships in Iowa on Thursday by clearing 16 feet, 8 3/4 inches. Ballew attended Los Angeles Valley College this past season.

Agoura hurdler Jonathan Cabral finished second in the 110 high hurdles, running 13.70.
