Baseball: El Camino Real pulls out 9-8 victory

Justin Scovel’s two-out triple in the bottom of the seventh tied the game and then a passed ball won it as El Camino Real rallied for a 9-8 victory over San Pedro in the City Section Division I championship game.

Pitcher Jonathan Mata was brought in from the bullpen with a runner aboard and one out. He got a fly out before Scovel delivered his second triple of the game on a 3-and-2 count. He soon came home when the ball got away from catcher Danny Matienzo.
