Hanging out at the Westchester Tip-Off Classic tonight, I’m watching Taft wear out King-Drew, 51-20, after a half.
The Toreadors are raining threes all over the Golden Eagles -- 10 in the first half, five by junior guard Justin Hawkins.
Taft guard Larry Drew, headed to North Carolina next fall, isn’t scoring but is penetrating the middle of King-Drew’s defense and then passing out to wide-open teammates.
Tonight is not much of a test. Let’s see who Taft gets in the next round.
