LIBYA: Italian journalists kidnapped by Kadafi forces

Four Italian journalists traveling in Libya were kidnapped Wednesday by forces loyal to Moammar Kadafi, the BBC reported.
The journalists worked for Italian newspapers Corriere della Sera, La Stampa and Avvenire, a spokesman for the Italian foreign ministry told Reuters.
The journalists were apparently traveling to the embattled western coastal city of Zawiya, according to the Feb17 Voices Libyan activist group. Rumors were circulating that the journalists’ had been released late Wednesday but their Libyan driver had been killed, a Milan journalist told Feb17 Voices. The Associated Press reported that the driver had been killed, citing Italian officials.
